Benefits of Ingredients

Cherries contain fibre, vitamins and minerals including, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Vitamin K, Potassium, Manganese & Copper. This means that, as part of a healthy diet, they support muscle contraction, nerve function, blood pressure regulation and kidney function.

Like all fruit and vegetables they contain antioxidants, which help to keep us healthy by fighting free radical damage to our cells. They also contain a small amount of melatonin which can help with sleep.

Ingredients for Cherry Smoothie

Ingredients

  • Frozen Pitted Cherries X 1 Cup
  • Half a banana (can be frozen also)
  • Flaxseeds x 1 Tablespoon
  • Greek Yoghurt or Natural Yoghurt or Soya Natural Yoghurt X 4 Tablespoons
  • Milk or Water X 4 Tablespoons
  • Add more water to preferred consistency

Method

  • Add all of the ingredients into a blender/smoothie maker/nutribullit
  • Blend until smooth
  • Add the additional water if needed to get the consistency just right for you

Variety is key when it comes to our gut health so switch up your ingredients and have the occasional red smoothie instead of green! This one will be great at Halloween too! Wooa- ha-ha….
